Purpose
The Work-Study Wellness Center Assistant plays a central role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and student-centered environment at the CNS Outpost Food Pantry.
Responsibilities
Front Desk and Customer Service: Welcome visitors and provide excellent customer service, answer questions, assist students as needed, and support daily front desk operations and administrative tasks.
Pantry Operations: Open and close the CNS Outpost Food Pantry, stock shelves, maintain an organized pantry space, and monitor inventory levels and assist with supply organization.
Donation and Data Management: Receive, sort, log, and process food and supply donations, accurately record visitors and donation information using management software, and assist with inventory tracking and reporting.
Program Support: Prepare, pick up, and deliver supplies to pantry satellite locations as needed, maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with university policies and applicable laws, perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must have an active Work-Study Award
Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
Must be available to work Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 4 pm
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong reliability, professionalism, and customer service skills
Work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Current College of Natural Sciences Student
Strong Verbal and written communication skills
Experience providing customer service or working with diverse populations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with data entry, inventory management, or administrative support, Microsoft Office application orthe abiity to quickly learn new software systems such as Macintosh computers.
Interest in student wellness, food security initiatives, community engagement, or campus resources
Salary Range
$12.00 per hour
Working Conditions
The position is primarily based in the CNS Outpost Food Pantry (PAI 5.40) and may occasionally require work in pantry storage areas. Duties include standing, walking, stocking shelves, organizing supplies, taking inventory, and lifting or moving pantry items.
Ability to lift and push at least 30 lbs
Work Shift
6 hours a week, between 10 am to 4 pm
