Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related studies; MBA with concentrations in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or investment banking experience
  • Strong proficiency in financial reporting, modeling and analysis
  • Ability to work with complex and robust Excel spreadsheets, regressions, economics, etc.
  • Ability to provide firm recommendations while evaluating different complex financial scenarios
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and USG funding requirements
  • Experience with any ERP accounting system (examples: Sage Intacct, SAP, NetSuite)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to deal with a variety of personalities in a professional manner
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics, Mission CRM, and/or SAP Concur preferred, but not required
  • Adapts and willingly adjusts to constantly changing circumstances and parameters
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making and business planning efforts
  • Oversee the accurate coding and allocation of expenses and revenue, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive interim and final reports to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including US government agencies and compliant donors
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to the management team and department heads to support informed decision-making
  • Lead the coordination and completion of annual financial audits, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely completion
  • Work closely with external accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual 990 tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team on key capital allocation decisions, innovative projects, and strategic initiatives
  • Foster collaboration with other department managers to align financial goals and objectives with overall organizational priorities
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function
  • Lead and participate in special projects as needed, leveraging financial expertise to drive positive outcomes and organizational growth
