Requirements
  • 3+ years full-time experience in public relations or similar role required (this is not an entry-level position); business news experience ideal, media experience preferred.
  • Superior writing, communication, collaboration, and research skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and juggle multiple projects and to prioritize effectively and get things done.
  • Knowledge and interest in global business, purpose-led companies and leaders.
  • Excellent sense of the media landscape and media relations, including media contacts across digital, broadcast, and print.
  • Understanding of industry best practices.
  • Creative approaches to public relations and promotion.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and implement publicity and media relations strategies for the company’s products, services, and people, including journalists, editorial franchises, conferences, business lines and products, advertising partnerships, and awards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and maintain open communication with senior management.
  • Help manage press and other attendees and PR efforts onsite at select company events and conferences.
  • Track media coverage and distribute media reports.
  • Draft press releases and other announcements, and coordinate distribution on PR Newswire, company website, and other platforms.
  • Help with internal communications including staff memos, town hall talking points, and executive videos.
  • Follow industry trends and make recommendations to promote our journalists, business, and brand.
  • Pitch editorial stories, journalists, and franchises to outside media and industry trade outlets, including those in print, digital, and broadcast, and develop sources for pitching and booking Fortune journalists on prominent digital and video outlets, and podcasts.
  • Help prep Fortune leaders and journalists for media appearances, whether on podcasts or TV, or for print and online stories.
  • Help address inbound inquiries.
