About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to help drive and evolve our product. Our technology is new and rapidly evolving, and you’ll be an early contributor with a substantial impact on the architecture. You will be solving multiple exciting technical challenges, work cross-teams and cross-functionally and along with the founding team and CTO.
Locations: US preferred (Must be willing to work hybrid in our San Jose office, if you are willing to relocate, please indicate on your CV or apply directly)
Focus Area: New Product - Cloud and Distributed Systems
What you’ll do
You will be building an A+ team from the ground up to build a new product module
You will be working with product, marketing and sales to launch this product
You will design, optimize and extend a large-scale, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant system that handles large graph datasets at enterprise scale in realtime. Instances of our product are processing billions of events from tens of thousands of endpoints in real-time with sub-second latency requirements
You will be solving real-world scaling problems that require thorough performance analysis and troubleshooting skills
You get to work with a modern and constantly evolving microservices-based software stack which includes our AI engine (https://www.cyberhaven.com/product/linea), Go, Kubernetes, BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner, Redis, Docker
Who you are
You have experience leading an organization and understand how to deliver value to the customers
A problem solver, able to balance competing priorities, strong process orientation, and ability to manage through complexity and rapid change
Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills
You can effectively communicate and collaborate with all areas of engineering and interact and work with engineers at all levels
You build strong relationships through your expertise and align your team and stakeholders
Deep understanding of software engineering and architecture - you’ve been a developer in the past but are focused on leadership now
Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
You are a hands-on leader with a ’can do’ attitude and a bias for action; gets it done, on time every time without cutting corners

With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. The estimated base salary for this role is $220k to $280k. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Cyberhaven’s total rewards package.
