- Part-time instructors typically plan and teach one to three courses per semester on campus (1-9 credits). Nine credits is the maximum allowed for adjunct instructors.
Successful candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse populations and audiences.

Submit student progress reports through Starfish.
Respond to administration and student emails.
Use the Penn State learning management system (Canvas).
- Minimum of a Master's Degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have completed an MA, MFA, or M.S. in a field related to the discipline is required and experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred. A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a field related to the discipline taught is preferred.
Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired.
