About the Role:
The Payroll Tax and Benefits Analyst works closely with the FP&A leader, Payroll Manager and other members of the Finance and People Operations teams to support the payroll, benefits, and expense processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience and/or meet educational requirements, attention to detail, strong payroll ethics, and ability to manage confidential information. This role will be based in our San Francisco office in a hybrid capacity.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare / Review US and Canada retirement and benefits reconciliations. Work with the Payroll and People Operations team to resolve disconnects
- Prepare and review monthly US and Canada retirement and benefits reconciliations while working with the Payroll and People Operations team to resolve disconnects.
- Lead the annual 401k audit.
- Coordinate with third-party vendor for tax registration
- Provide ad hoc support and assistance to the payroll team during bi-weekly payroll and monthly bonus payroll
- Assist the accounting team with identifying and resolving payroll GL issues
- Identify opportunities for simplification and automation
- Support other departments as needed with queries related to payroll and benefits transactions
- Assist with process documentation as well as in-house non-standard process documentation
- Assist with special projects as assigned
What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related fields and/or 5-7 years of related work experience
- Advanced MS Office skills user required (basic formula, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Intern co-op experience in business finance/accounting
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Team player with proven leadership experience and ability to work cross-functionally

The compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is USD $100,000-$115,000 annually plus equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual’s base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
