Requirements
  • A current California Registered Nurse license is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • A current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
  • Six months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of Stroke/Sepsis Education competency within six months of hire is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing care to hospital patients.
  • Effectively plan and communicate patient and family education.
  • Participate in unit-based educational activities.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation consistent with practice and hospital policy.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and comprehension.
  • Cross-train in the Progressive Care Unit according to department needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • One or more years of previous Medical-Surgical or Telemetry experience is preferred.
  • Progressive Care Nurse certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas is preferred.
