Netflix live Action 'Solo Leveling' series: filming underway & what we know so far.

Netflix live Action 'Solo Leveling' series: filming underway & what we know so far. Filming is underway on Netflix's live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling. Netflix has another huge live-action adaptation of a beloved webtoon in development, as it was announced that the streaming service is adapting the worldwide phenomenon Solo Leveling. Byeon W00-seok has been confirmed to play the series lead as Sung Jin-woo, and is joined by Han So Hee and Kang You Seok. Filming will reportedly get underway in April 2026. Solo Leveling is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original fantasy-action series and the adaptation of the popular web novel of the same name by author Chugong. The web novel has already been adapted, as its webtoon was serialized by KakaoPage in March 2018, and illustrated by Jang Sung-rak. While the webtoon was extremely popular in its own right, what propelled the franchise into the stratosphere was the anime adaptation. The influence of the anime adaptation has been so ginormous that the webtoon has since amassed an impressive 14.3 billion cumulative views worldwide. However, what is more remarkable is that Sony recently announced the anime as the "most watched anime in the history of Crunchyroll." Taking into consideration that the likes of One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan, and Demon Slayer are all available on Crunchyroll, that is an awe-inspiring feat. It even swept the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, winning nine of the major categories, including Anime of the Year, Best Action, and Best Character. Photo Credit: Solo Leveling producers Sota Furuhashi (Aniplex), Atsushi Kaneko (A-1 Pictures), and Kanako Takahashi (Crunchyroll), along with English voice cast Aleks Le (voice of Sung Jinwoo) and Michelle Rojas (voice of Cha Hae-in) at the Television Academy's Wolf Theatre in North Hollywood - Saint / Crunchyroll Solo Leveling is beloved, and like every live-action adaptation of a beloved manga, webtoon, or anime, it is often met with scrutiny. To help ease the nerves of fans reading this, Netflix has an excellent track record with its webtoon adaptations. Let's not forget that Netflix has arguably two of the best live-action adaptations of beloved manga/anime out there, in Alice in Borderland and One Piece. What is the plot of Solo Leveling? Decades prior, strange portals began opening across the world, housing monsters who could unleash devastating harm to humanity. The arrival of the portals also saw the awakening of supernatural abilities in humans, granting them great strength and power to protect the rest of society and enabling them to hunt the deadly monsters. Many years later, Sung Jin-woo, an E-Level rank hunter and one of the weakest hunters in Korea, puts his life on the line every time he enters a dungeon, regardless of how weak the monsters are within. After barely surviving a monstrously powerful double dungeon, Jin-woo is chosen by 'the System' and given a power unique only to him, allowing Jin-woo to level up his strength and magic by completing quests and battling more dangerous dungeons. Who are the cast members of Solo Leveling? Byeon Woo Seok, was the first cast member announced and will play the lead role of Sung Jin-woo. The actor has starred in several Netflix projects, including 20th Century Girl, Record of Youth, Lovely Runner, and Strong Girl Namsoon. Outside of Netflix, he has led K-dramas such as Moonshine, Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, and the film Soulmate. It was reported by Naver that Han So Hee has joined the cast of Solo Leveling. While the name of her role hasn't been announced, she is expected to be playing the role of Cha Hae In, Korea's only female S-Rank Hunter. Netflix subscribers will be familiar with her work, thanks to her starring roles in fantastic projects such as My Name and Gyeongseong Creature. It has been recently reported that Kang You Seok has been offered the role of Yoo Jin Ho, a D-Rank Hunter, who befriends Jin-Woo. Kang You Seok has starred in Netflix projects such as Resident Playbook, When Life Gives You Tangerines, Start Up, and Mystic Pop-Up Bar. Kang Mi Na has been cast in Solo Leveling, but the name of her role has yet to be revealed. However, online fans have already speculated that she will play Sung Jin Ah, the younger sister of Sung Jin Woo. The actress recently starred in Netflix's horror thriller If Wishes Could Kill, and played a lead role in the popular Netflix film Love Untangled. Also reported to be cast in Solo Leveling is Cha Woo Min, who will reportedly play the role of Baruka, the leader of the Ice elves. The actor also starred in Love Untangled and will play a supporting role in Netflix's upcoming K-drama Take Charge of My Heart. There are several key characters that fans will look forward to seeing cast, such as: * Sung Jin-ah - Jin-Woo's younger sister. * Yoo Jin-ho - D-Rank Hunter who befriends Jin-Woo. * Cha Hae-in - Korea's only female S-Rank Hunter. * Go Gun-hee - Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association. * Baek Yoon-ho - S-Rank Hunter and Guild Master of the White Tiger Guild. * Choi Jong-in - S-Rank Hunter and Guild Master of the Hunters Guild. * Woo Jin-chul - A-Rank Hunter and Chief Inspector of the Korean Hunters' Association's Surveillance Team. What is the production status of Solo Leveling? Development Filming Scheduled Filming Ongoing Post-Production X user @ggonigone has been an incredibly reliable source of information regarding the various K-dramas that have come to Netflix over the past several years, and previously reported that filming for Solo Leveling will began in Early May 2026. 넷플릭스 오리지널 시리즈 <나 혼자만 레벨업> 2026년 5월 초 촬영 시작 (3~4개월 예정) pic.twitter.com/dmCYGmzmSo - ً (@ggonigone) March 30, 2026 What is the episode count? The first season will have a reported seven episodes. However, this has yet to be confirmed officially. When is the Solo Leveling Netflix release date? With filming scheduled to begin in April 2026, we would expect a lengthy production schedule for the series. Not to mention an equally lengthy post-production is expected, given the number of visual and special effects we're likely to see in the series. At this point, the earliest we could see the series on Netflix is late 2027 or early 2028. We await further updates from Netflix. Tinton Falls Earns Film Ready Designation, Creating New Opportunities for Local Businesses

June 4, 2026 Tinton Falls earns Film Ready designation, creating new opportunities for local businesses. TINTON FALLS, NJ - The Borough of Tinton Falls has officially been designated a Film Ready community through the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission, completing the state's five-step certification process designed to prepare municipalities for film and television production activity. This designation comes at an exciting time as Netflix moves forward with its plans at Fort Monmouth. By becoming Film Ready, Tinton Falls is positioning itself to support future productions while helping local businesses capitalize on the economic opportunities that accompany the film and television industry. Production companies bring significant economic activity to the communities in which they work. Film crews often rely on local restaurants, coffee shops, caterers, transportation providers, hotels, dry-cleaning services, retail stores, and other businesses throughout the production process. These expenditures can provide a meaningful boost to the local economy while creating opportunities for businesses to expand services and attract new customers. Local businesses are encouraged to register with the state's Film Ready program. Registered businesses are included in a database that production companies can access when seeking vendors, services, and community partners during filming. This provides local establishments with the opportunity to be considered when productions come to Tinton Falls and the surrounding region. Businesses and property owners may also register locations that could be used for filming. In addition to generating rental income, being featured in a film or television production can increase visibility, attract visitors, and create lasting interest in a business or property. The film industry also brings employment and career opportunities to its residents. "The Film Ready designation is another way Tinton Falls is preparing for future economic opportunities," said Mayor Risa Clay. "With the anticipated growth of New Jersey's film and television industry, we want our local businesses to be positioned to benefit from the increased activity and investment that productions bring to our community." Business owners interested in participating can find registration information and Film Ready resources through the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission website.

Netflix quietly launches MLB Highlights hub with nearly 200 episodes.

Netflix quietly launches MLB Highlights hub with nearly 200 episodes. Select users in the United States have access to highlights and top plays from the MLB. Netflix is continuing to swing for the fences with its sports programming. While the streamer has been making loud, splashy moves into live sports, it has quietly begun rolling out a brand new, daily Major League Baseball highlights hub for select users. Though you won't find any press releases about it, the new title page - simply billed as MLB Daily Highlights & Top Plays - has surfaced on the platform. The official logline for the hub reads: "Big games. Top plays. Every day. Your home for all of Major League Baseball's must-see moments and greatest hits from around the diamond." Our understanding is that the hub is currently part of a limited test being shown to a small number of US households. The streamer is using this soft launch to gauge how members engage with bite-sized, daily sports content before potentially rolling it out to a wider audience. What's inside the MLB Highlights hub? The title, available via the direct link above, currently features a whopping 181 "episodes" that update daily, ranging from 1 to around 14 minutes, and is very much akin to what you'd find on the official YouTube channel for the MLB offering highlights from recent games and feature the "New" label Netflix has been employing for the past year for live WWE events and more recently for its Podcast offerings. Based on a look at the interface, the hub breaks down the previous day's baseball action into two main formats: * Top 5 Plays of the Day: Quick, digestible 1-minute compilation reels for casual fans. * Game Highlights: Robust, 10-to-14-minute recap videos for individual matchups. For example, the slate of content added for June 1st includes a 1-minute Top 5 Plays of the Day alongside dedicated, 10+ minute highlight packages for specific games, including: * Mets vs. Mariners * Dodgers vs. D-backs * Rockies vs. Angels * Rangers vs. Cardinals * Giants vs. Brewers * White Sox vs. Twins * Royals vs. Reds * Marlins vs. Nationals * Tigers vs. Rays Latest push into MLB for Netflix. This quiet rollout is just the latest piece of a massive, rapidly expanding puzzle between Netflix and Major League Baseball. Over the past few years, the streamer has aggressively scaled its baseball-related offerings, transforming from a home for sports documentaries to an active broadcaster of the sport itself. This daily highlights test perfectly complements the streamer's ongoing baseball initiatives: * Live Games & Massive Viewership: Netflix recently secured the rights to stream three MLB games live from 2026 through 2028. We already know the appetite is there; Netflix recently touted that its MLB Opening Night broadcast scored a massive 3 million viewers. Next up will be the MLB T-Mobile Home Run Derby scheduled for July 13th, 2026, and the MLB at Field of Dreams. * Docuseries: The streamer has produced two major projects featuring the Boston Red Sox, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the historic franchise. * Global Tournaments: Netflix also secured an exclusive partnership with World Baseball Classic Inc., ensuring international baseball storylines have a home on the platform in Japan. This launch of a new highlights hub further highlights how Netflix is going after more casual viewing beyond its scripted and unscripted fare, competing directly with YouTube. This is an area we expect further expansion into, with the biggest push in this space over the past year being podcasts, with over 50 available in the US alone, with most getting weekly updates at a minimum, and a few even going live daily. Are you one of the lucky few who have access to the MLB Highlights test in the US? Let us know what you think of the interface in the comments down below!

Netflix drops full trailer for I Will Find You, its first us-set Harlan Coben adaptation.

Netflix drops full trailer for I Will Find You, its first Memorabletv-set Harlan Coben adaptation. News Posted by By Paul M June 1, 2026 Netflix has released the full trailer for I Will Find You, its first American-set adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel, ahead of a premiere date of 18 June. Sam Worthington stars as David Burroughs, a father wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his young son who breaks out of jail after receiving evidence the boy may still be alive. Britt Lower plays his former sister-in-law Rachel, who helps engineer the escape, and Milo Ventimiglia also features in the eight-episode limited series. The show is created and showrun by Robert Hull, whose previous credits include Quantum Leap and Alcatraz, with Coben serving as executive producer through his Final Twist Productions banner. Coben told Netflix's Tudum that this is the 13th series he has made with the streamer, and that for this project he unusually developed the television concept and the novel simultaneously, pitching to Netflix while still writing the book. The source novel was published in 2023. The significance of the US setting is worth noting. All of Coben's previous Netflix adaptations have been set in the UK, France, Spain or Poland, relocating his American source material to European settings. I Will Find You breaks that pattern entirely. Lower arrives at the series coming off Severance season two, in which she played a lead role, while Worthington closed out 2025 by reprising his role in Avatar: Fire and Ash, which grossed $1.49 billion at the box office. The series premieres on Netflix on 18 June 2026 with all eight episodes available simultaneously.
