Sterlington has expanded its Private Wealth practice in Philadelphia with three additions: associate Roberta Bombaci and estate and fiduciary accountants Sheryl Roth and Robert M. Maxwell. The hires strengthen the firm's multidisciplinary team advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and family offices. Bombaci joins from Troutman Pepper Locke, bringing expertise in estate and gift tax planning, trusts and estates, and family business succession. Roth and Maxwell join from Morgan Lewis, with Roth offering over 40 years of experience in fiduciary accounting and estate taxation, whilst Maxwell brings experience in estate settlement and post-mortem planning. Maxwell is also an adjunct professor at Villanova University School of Law. The expansion reflects Sterlington's strategy of combining legal and accounting expertise to deliver coordinated solutions for complex estate and succession planning.
Sterlington PLLC has hired Jake Ebers as a partner in its executive compensation practice from Kirkland & Ellis. Ebers advises founders, CEOs and senior executives on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, IPOs and restructurings, focusing on equity incentive plans, transaction bonuses, severance arrangements and employment agreements. At Kirkland & Ellis, Ebers represented private equity firms, strategic buyers and portfolio companies across various industries. He previously practised labour and employment law at Reed Smith and worked as an attorney with the New York State Department of Labor. Ebers was recognised in 2026 by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for corporate law. He holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Sterlington PLLC has appointed Klas Holm as a partner in its Tax practice. Holm joins from Curtis, where he served as partner and Global Tax Co-Chair. With over 30 years of experience, Holm advises corporations, sovereign wealth funds, private equity and hedge funds, and high-net-worth individuals on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and complex tax structuring. He also represents clients in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities. The appointment expands Sterlington's capabilities in US and cross-border transactional tax planning. Holm previously worked as a partner at Baker McKenzie and holds LLMs from New York University School of Law and Stockholm University Faculty of Law. The hire continues Sterlington's strategic expansion across corporate, litigation, executive compensation and private wealth practices.
