Role: SDET Lead
Location: Mclean, VA (within 20 miles)
Key Responsibilities: -
- Lead the planning, development, execution and maintenance of automated test frameworks and test scripts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, DevOps and product management to define test strategies and tech stack. - Validate cloud-based workflows including data uploads, file validations and permissions – especially involving Amazon S3.
- Experience testing microservices and cloud-native applications. - Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Monitor, analyze and report on text execution metrics and test results, test strategy design, risk based testing and ensuring traceability to business requirements.
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools like Kiali Spinnaker and Rancher.
- Mentor and guide other QA engineers on automation practices and tools.
- Ensure test automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Evaluate tools and technologies to continuously improve test automation efficiency and coverage.
- Proficient in defining and reporting test metrics (test coverage, defect leakage, automation ROI, etc) -
- Familiarity with containerization and test execution in Docker/Kubernetes environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications. -
- 9+ years’ experience in QA and automation testing.
- Proven experience leading QA teams and test automation projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber.
- Proficient in Java and JavaScript.
- Solid experience validating data flows and integrations with Amazon S3, and PostgreSQL DB.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman / Bruno and REST Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Atlassian Bitbucket.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with BDD/TDD framework.
- Experience working in financial environments.
