Requirements
  • 12 to 15 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master Degree is preferred)
  • Degree in Law, Science or Economics is preferred
  • Demonstrable experience in public policy and/or regulatory affairs, ideally in data-related policy and regulatory matters.
  • Experience working as a member of industry and trade associations and ideally in leadership roles in such associations.
  • Working knowledge of privacy, data protection and/or consumer protection regulation is essential
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, sustainability and/or financial crime regulation preferred
  • Comprehension of regulatory needs for the EU centralised process as well as alignment between the EU and the UK.
  • Capable of enabling/impacting and influencing efficient engagements and conversations.
  • Ability to engage to collate information and efficiently drive projects through to accomplishment to tight timelines.
  • Have strong communication and coordination skills, and proficiency in communicating strategic and tactical issues to management.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with business stakeholders and Global Compliance & Ethics (GCE) leadership, and as a member of the GCE Regulatory Affairs Forum, identify and communicate public policy and legislative/regulatory monitoring priorities for Europe as well as commonalities with policy, legislative, and regulatory trends across markets.
  • Develop D&B policy position statements to address European market priorities and needs. Identify areas of consistency and divergence across markets. Communicate D&B policy position statements to key external stakeholders, monitor their effectiveness, and incorporate continuous improvements as needed.
  • Identify, catalog, and monitor all regulatory registration and reporting requirements across our European markets (except for those related to data breaches). Identify business stakeholders and contributors to each requirement and timely coordinate inputs and preparation as well as internal reviews and approvals.
  • As part of the GCE Program risk management, develop predictions for expectations and risks associated with European public policy objectives and outcomes by European regulatory agencies, and ensure that these are maintained on our risk register.
  • Interface directly with various European regulatory agencies, as required, to facilitate the review and approval of regulatory applications and to address queries.
  • Serve as our primary European regulatory representative in our global policy associations, such as the Centre for Information Policy Leadership and the Information Accountability Foundation. Coordinate D&B representation in industry and trade associations across Europe in partnership with business leadership and other Legal team members and serve as a liaison to ensure consistent and aligned messaging. Catalog and prioritize industry and trade associations, their purpose, and representation in each.
  • Provide content guidance for regional regulatory documents and meetings in accordance with global strategy
  • Supports the CECO in managing global public policy and regulatory affairs strategy through the GCE Regulatory Affairs Forum, with an eye towards integration of strategies globally
  • Write clear and well-evidenced policy papers, submissions, consultation responses, briefings, and letters
  • Track and analyse significant policy discussions, legislative, judicial and regulatory developments, and stakeholder activities that affect our business. Ensure they are well articulated to internal stakeholders.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
