SUMMARY
The CATS Business Partnerships Coordinator develops, implements, and manages programs that increase the use of CATS commuter/TDM programs. They are expected to provide professional level support in organizing and coordinating transit commuter programs, including vanpool. Typical duties might include determining eligibility; responding to program questions, complaints and concerns; preparing related reports; developing and giving a wide variety of presentations; promoting transit events; responding to requests for program information; tracking programs costs; and forecasting demands for services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of CATS commuter programs.
Plans, designs and implements procedures for marketing and outreach programs for all through advertising campaigns, development of promotional packages, and outreach to employers who provide incentives to employees who use alternative transportation
Oversees marketing and advertising campaigns for CATS commuter programs
Work with vanpool vendors to support efficient implementation of vanpools
Increase awareness of the CATS vanpool program in the community and at work sites
Employ sales techniques to increase participation in CATS commuter programs at businesses, government agencies, offices, other places of employment and apartment complexes located on transit services.
Determines requirements and makes recommendations of participating employers and incentivize participants
Coordinates with and provides necessary support for the vanpool program in order to maintain current ridership and grow the program and assists in planning routes and works with vanpool providers;
Coordinates with other alternative transportation providers in the region and the state to accomplish work program established for marketing and outreach of the TDM Program;
Provides for special requests for TDM program marketing and outreach information from agency, regionwide, statewide and nationwide entities;
Conduct marketing events and promotions at area businesses to increase awareness and participation in alternative modes of transportation
Take advantage of local market conditions to increase program penetration
Assists with the development of grant applications for TDM programs
As part of your responsibility to support the CATS Safety Culture, report safety concerns and issues through the various methods established by CATS as outlined in ASP.

Able to effectively to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to synthesize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and prepare and present reports to a variety of audiences effectively.
Ability to provide clear work direction to other Commuter Programs staff to enable successful implementation of workplans.
Ability to communicate both orally and in written form using proper grammar and good diction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires three to five years of experience or a two-year college degree with three years’ experience or a bachelor's degree in business management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and customer expectations.
Proven experience in business management or a similar role.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive improvements.
Exceptional conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte.
