- Knowledge of equipment operation, load limits, and stability principles.
- Operate wheel loaders to load, transport, and stockpile materials such as aggregate, asphalt, soil, concrete, and debris.
- Support grading, excavation, embankment, backfill, and paving operations.
- Maintain safe working distances from personnel, traffic, and other equipment.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
- Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure proper material handling methods.
- Communicate with foremen, supervisors, truck drivers, and ground personnel.
- Clean and maintain equipment and make basic repairs as necessary.
- Move levers, push pedals, and turn valves to control equipment, and drive and maneuver equipment.
- Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
- Maintain knowledge of the company’s values and strategic plan.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with construction equipment is preferred.
