Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an electronics inspection role within a contract manufacturing or similar environment is required.
- IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification is required.
- A strong understanding of IPC workmanship standards for Class 2 and Class 3 is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and bills of materials is required.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
- Ability to accurately identify and classify defects is required.
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled technical data or technology under applicable U.S. export-control laws, or be eligible for required government authorization.
Responsibilities
- Review job documentation, including MPIs, deviations, ECOs, and customer requirements, prior to inspection.
- Conduct SMT first article inspections and verify compliance with IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 and customer standards.
- Monitor throughput and quality on assigned lines, halt production when significant defects are identified, and escalate issues promptly.
- Provide daily quality pass-down reports and keep leads and supervisors informed about inspection outcomes.
- Initiate and review technical inquiries for discrepancies and ensure jobs do not commence without proper authorization.
- Assist in addressing bottleneck areas as directed by a supervisor, engineer, or manager.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Quality Manager.
- Adhere to and enforce procedures related to ESD, MSD handling, housekeeping, maintenance, safety, and inspection protocols.
- Propose and support continuous process and quality improvements.
