Requirements
  • PhD in virology, molecular biology, microbiology, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Expertise in lentiviral vector plasmid design and molecular cloning
  • Skilled in molecular cloning techniques (PCR, Restriction digesting, Gibson/Infusion assembly, gel electrophoresis, plasmid prepping)
  • Experience with primer design, Sanger sequencing, and molecular biology and sequence analysis software
  • Expertise in multicolor flow cytometry and FlowJo software
  • Experience with GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Good knowledge of LVV biology and molecular biology principles and techniques
  • High-level capability in mammalian tissue culture, primary T-cell culture, and viral vector production
  • Ability to interpret results analytically and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under timeline pressures, drive tasks to completion, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Hands-on experience supervising and mentoring junior personnel
  • Previous experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment
  • Legally entitled to work for any employer in the US
Responsibilities
  • Design and produce viral vector plasmids and stocks
  • Perform experiments in cell culture and primary cells to optimize viral vector performance and gene editing protocols
  • Maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures and data
  • Analyze data and present findings at meetings
  • Stay updated on industry knowledge and advancements
  • Contribute to project direction and prioritization
  • Mentor junior Research Associates
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams
