Requirements
  • USA Payroll experience
  • Maintain accounting/payroll designation or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and management
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions
  • Experience with payroll software and systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Comfortable working in a startup style environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent planning, organizing, multitasking and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills, intermediate level or above for Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the processing of recurring payrolls
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and best practices
  • Prepare and submit various payroll-related documents
  • Supervise and mentor payroll staff
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices
  • Work closely with People & Values and finance teams
  • Address and resolve payroll-related queries or issues from employees
  • Conduct regular payroll audits and reconcile payroll data for accuracy
  • Support the month-end reporting process
  • Attend professional development courses
  • Look for efficiencies/implement better ways of working
  • Support the Corporate Controller in preparing documentation for the annual financial statement audit
  • Live and uphold the company’s core values
