Agility Robotics develops mobile manipulation robots and automation solutions, with its most notable product being the humanoid robot, Digit. Digit works in conjunction with Agility Arc, a cloud-based automation platform, to assist businesses in sectors like logistics, manufacturing, retail, eCommerce, and distribution. These robots are designed to work alongside human employees, enhancing productivity by taking on labor-intensive tasks, allowing humans to focus on more complex activities. Unlike many competitors, Agility Robotics emphasizes human-robot collaboration, aiming to optimize operations rather than replace human workers. The company's goal is to enable businesses to improve efficiency and effectiveness through the integration of their robotic solutions.

The dream of having robots do household chores inched a little closer to reality last week. Figure, an OpenAI-backed robotics artificial intelligence (AI) startup, showed off humanoid robots that can understand voice commands and can grab objects they had never seen before. In a Figure video, a guy holding a bag of groceries starts unloading eggs, apple, ketchup, cheese, cookies and other items on a counter
Agility Robotics announced a minority investment from Schaeffler Group and an agreement for Schaeffler to purchase humanoid robots for its global plant network. Schaeffler plans to deploy these robots in 100 plants by 2030. Agility Robotics, known for its DigitⓇ robot, previously signed a multi-year agreement with GXO for the first Robots-as-a-Service deployment. CEO Peggy Johnson aims to deliver safe humanoid robots to work alongside humans within 24 months.

Despite their low-tech reputations, the industrial and agricultural sectors are being reimagined by autonomous solutions. The advent of autonomous commercial vehicles, as well as across warehouse operations, couldn’t be coming at a better time. Within agriculture alone, the American Farm Bureau Federation estimates there are around 2.4 million farm jobs that need to be filled annually. Separately, a skilled tradesmen shortage has left 88% of contractors struggling to find skilled labor. “Our agriculture, construction and commercial landscaping customers all have work that must get done at certain times of the day and year, yet there is not enough available and skilled labor to do the work,” said Jahmy Hindman, chief technology officer at John Deere, in a Monday (Jan. 6) statement announcing the debut of John Deere’s latest driverless machines
Furthermore, Agility Robotics has introduced Digit, a bipedal humanoid currently employed in logistics settings, having been deployed successfully in a Spanx warehouse and tested by Amazon.
