Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some hands-on experience with laser welding or a similar joining or fabrication process such as resistance welding, micro-soldering, or brazing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures and work instructions written in English.
  • Ability to work to written specifications and record data accurately.
  • Basic computer skills for entering production and inspection records.
  • Ability to manipulate small hand tools and assemble small mechanical parts.
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Close vision and color vision.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate laser welding equipment for AEON surgical stapling components.
  • Perform laser welding operations according to drawings and process specifications and in compliance with applicable industry standards.
  • Inspect and test welded assemblies and maintain accurate production and inspection records for each lot.
  • Work from detailed assembly instructions, drawings, and written procedures.
  • Report quality, process, equipment, and material problems to management promptly and hold suspect parts before they move to the next operation.
  • Identify process improvement and optimization opportunities and work with manufacturing engineering to evaluate them.
  • Follow Lexington Medical Quality System procedures and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to support cleanroom and manufacturing requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Small parts assembly experience is strongly preferred.
  • Medical device or other regulated industry experience is a plus.
  • Cleanroom experience is a plus.
