Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in consultant relations, institutional distribution, OCIO coverage, or a related asset management role, with strong relationships across the institutional consultant community.
  • Strong understanding of the institutional investment consultant marketplace, including manager research, ratings processes, client search activity, OCIO platforms, and discretionary portfolio construction.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Series 24, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to operate computer programs and software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats.
  • Ability to maintain day-to-day contact with co-workers and/or the public.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and evolve the Consultant Relations team, setting strategy, priorities, and execution standards across consultant research, OCIO, and field consultant engagement.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team while directly managing strategic consultant relationships and firm coverage.
  • Foster collaboration and transparency so information, ideas, market intelligence, and best practices are shared to maximize team effectiveness and client outcomes.
  • Drive an integrated coverage model combining firm-tiering, regional engagement, and specialized consultant channels.
  • Foster a proactive, commercially minded culture that shapes consultant conversations and positions the firm earlier in the decision-making process.
  • Drive accountability for ratings progress, relationship development, pipeline growth, and business outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership and market intelligence on consultant, OCIO, and industry trends.
  • Lead consultant engagement strategy focused on securing new ratings, enhancing existing ratings, and commercializing consultant support into asset growth.
  • Build and deepen relationships with investment consultants, OCIO providers, manager research teams, field consultants, and discretionary decision-makers.
  • Develop engagement strategies for priority consultant firms in partnership with investment teams, product strategy, sales, and client relations.
  • Advance the OCIO strategy by increasing engagement with discretionary asset allocators and portfolio decision-makers.
  • Connect consultant advocacy, ratings progress, and relationship development to funded opportunities and business growth.
  • Use consultant segmentation, firm-tiering, and market intelligence to prioritize resources and maximize business opportunities.
  • Leverage data, consultant insights, and ratings activity to identify growth areas and strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Position investment capabilities within consultant research, asset allocation, and portfolio construction frameworks.
  • Translate consultant and OCIO trends into actionable insights for distribution, investment, and product teams.
  • Establish priorities, execution standards, and operating processes across consultant research, OCIO, and field engagement activities.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration across investment teams, product strategy, sales, marketing, client service, and leadership so consultant insights and opportunities are shared and acted upon.
  • Drive disciplined execution across multiple consultant firms, strategies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage progress against objectives including ratings, relationship development, consultant advocacy, and asset growth.
  • Maintain compliance and legal adherence.

Allspring Global Investments has expanded its Milwaukee-based Global Fixed Income Research team with three senior appointments to strengthen its US high yield capabilities. The firm, which manages $624 billion in assets under advisement, appointed Dino Kritikos as head of US High Yield Credit Research, alongside senior research analysts Lucy Calandranis and Andy Childs. Kritikos brings over 15 years of credit research experience, most recently serving as US/Canada head of industrials and transportation at Fitch Ratings. Calandranis joins from Fidelity's High Income & Alternatives platform, whilst Childs previously worked at Pioneer Investments. Sophie Freemantle has more than a decade of industry experience. 14 May 2026 Allspring Global Investments has hired Sophie Freemantle as its head of international product, following "significant" growth in business demand overseas. In the newly-created role, Freemantle (pictured) will develop Allspring's international product strategy to support business growth and meet client demand. She will report to Allspring's global head of product Rick Genoni. Prior to joining the firm, Freemantle spent seven and-a-half years at Federated Hermes, most recently as its head of product development outside of the US. She has also worked as business manager at Northern Trust Corporation. Commenting on the appointment, Genoni said: "I am delighted to have Sophie join its team.
