Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and easy to operate cloud-deployed services
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, and/or Go
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a hybrid or distributed team environment
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems to support our geospatial cloud database, AI workloads, and control plane
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software
  • Deliver innovative solutions for flexible and plug-and-play geospatial AI inference workloads on planetary-scale datasets
  • Optimize performance and reliability of the backend infrastructure through observability, continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvement
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in backend technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes

Wherobots and Felt partner to end siloed legacy GIS with AI-ready spatial data stack

Wherobots and Felt have announced a strategic partnership to modernise the geospatial data stack by integrating Wherobots' Spatial Intelligence lakehouse with Felt's collaborative mapping platform. The integration allows organisations to process petabyte-scale geospatial datasets in the cloud and visualise insights directly in interactive, shareable maps without moving data between systems. Leaf Agriculture is already using the combined solution, processing agricultural and telemetry data through Wherobots and creating interactive maps via Felt for their LeafLake product. The partnership eliminates traditional friction in GIS workflows by connecting cloud-native data engineering with browser-based visualisation. Wherobots' Community Edition is available at no cost, whilst enterprise features require Wherobots Professional Edition and Felt's Enterprise plan. Qualifying customers can receive proof-of-concept credits.
