A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., (AMT) is an ENR 500 A/E firm providing services in the disciplines of civil engineering, construction management and inspection, traffic and transportation design, water and wastewater systems, environmental and water resources, and landscape architecture. AMT is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing Team of design professionals in Parkersburg, WV.
Qualified candidates must have their EIT certification or be licensed as a Professional Engineer and have between 4 -8 years of progressive engineering design experience in the transportation industry.
This individual will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Transportation Project Manager on a variety of projects throughout West Virginia, producing high-quality plans, maps, and 3D models for our clients. Duties of this position may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports, development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross section and super-elevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling, and providing design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right-of-way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic related plans. In addition, this individual will create and submit technical reports, specifications, and design calculations.

Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution;
- Knowledge of State and Federal transportation design standards; WVDOH experience a plus;
- Engineering-in-Training Certification required
- Licensed Professional Engineer in WV preferred
- Experience with Bentley Microstation, Corridor Modeler, and Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction concepts preferred;
- Use of GIS applications such as ArcGIS or Google Earth a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
