View

East Penn Manufacturing is a private, family-owned energy storage company that started in 1946 building and reconditioning batteries. It began by recycling old batteries for returning GIs and expanded into automotive, industrial, and specialty battery products. The company operates the world’s largest single-site lead-acid battery manufacturing facility. Its products work by using lead-acid chemistry to store and deliver electrical energy for vehicles, industrial equipment, and energy storage. East Penn differentiates itself through long-term family ownership, reinvestment in facilities, a culture focused on employees and community, and a broad, vertically integrated production footprint without public IPOs or major acquisitions. The goal of East Penn is to provide reliable energy storage solutions while maintaining private ownership and community values, safeguarding its workforce, and supporting a wide range of energy storage applications.
