Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a Higher National Certificate in Engineering, or a trade background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation fields.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of combined experience in Oil and Gas Operations, commissioning, and projects.
  • Recognized technical qualification for the position of Operations and Maintenance Manager.
  • Confirmed experience and knowledge to efficiently and safely carry out start-up and performance testing activities.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Practical experience in the operations of a facility plant with the leadership skills to control work activities and daily operations.
  • Experience in the implementation and operation of Safety Management Systems and Emergency Response Plans.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements for the petroleum industry.
  • Experience in the management of multi-discipline operations, maintenance, and Health, Safety, and Environment for Liquefied Natural Gas or natural gas infrastructure facilities.
  • Technical knowledge of gas treatment and processing, Liquefied Natural Gas production activities, marine operations, and utilities operations.
  • Technical knowledge of commissioning requirements for oil and gas facilities.
  • Technical knowledge of Permit to Work systems, Health, Safety, and Environment, and Environment Management systems.
  • Working knowledge of design, construction, and pre-commissioning phases.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting process problems and upsets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to relocate to the project site according to country conditions before the start of commissioning activities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Operations and Maintenance scope of work during Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, including training, manuals, and operations readiness.
  • Prepare the Interim Period for Operations from system completion until utility handover to the company, covering Health, Safety, and Environment, scheduling, mobilization plans, and materials.
  • Finalize the preparation of the Operations and Maintenance scope of work in coordination with project management, commissioning organizations, and the client.
  • Ensure all Operations and Maintenance scope is compliant with Health, Safety, and Environment requirements.
  • Complete mobilization charts and define ramp-up schedules in accordance with the start-up sequence.
  • Identify and mobilize personnel in accordance with the mobilization schedule and job tickets.
  • Manage the training coordinator in collaboration with the company training manager to ensure the training scope is deployed according to the contract.
  • Follow up on the Operations Readiness program and manage interfaces with subcontractors developing Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Manage consumables, materials, and spare parts to guarantee performance during the interim period from system completion to the Provisional Acceptance Certificate signature.
  • Administer the Permit to Work system and associated procedures while leading emergency response efforts.
  • Ensure Liquefied Natural Gas is managed in accordance with Facility Management Systems and project plans.
  • Implement safe and environmentally responsible procedures during the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases for Operations and Maintenance activities.
  • Manage safe operations work practices during all operational phases, including shift handovers, commissioning handovers, start-up, and performance tests.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for operations personnel required to operate commissioned equipment.
  • Advise Operations Management of all project issues impacting operations and serve as the focal point for field interface communications.
  • Provide weekly and daily reports during shipyard and offshore phases.
  • Manage and lead a team of Operations and Maintenance engineers and technicians, which may include integrated teams from joint ventures or clients.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the Onshore Oil and Gas Industry, specifically Liquefied Natural Gas, in a similar or relevant position.
  • Experience in the commissioning and projects of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units.

Technip Energies wins two FEED contracts from SOGARA for Gabon refinery expansion

Technip Energies has been awarded two Front-End Engineering Design contracts by Société Gabonaise de Raffinage for its refinery in Port-Gentil, Gabon. The first contract covers debottlenecking the existing refinery, targeting key process units including a new kerosene sweetening unit and four storage facilities. The second contract involves designing a new modularised Hydrocracker Complex to significantly expand SOGARA's refining capacity, including a new marine jetty and offloading facility. Technip Energies will deploy its proprietary Steam Methane Reforming technology for hydrogen production. Both projects are designed to meet Africa 5 fuel quality standards, the continent's strictest specifications for sulphur content in transportation fuels. The award was recorded in Q1 2026 in the Technology, Products & Services segment.

Technip Energies nominates John O'Higgins as future board chair, adds Luc Rémont as director

Technip Energies has announced that John O'Higgins and Luc Rémont will be nominated for appointment to its Board of Directors at the 2026 Annual General Meeting. Current Chair Joseph Rinaldi will retire after five years, with O'Higgins designated to succeed him as Chair, subject to shareholder approval. O'Higgins currently chairs Elementis and serves as a non-executive director at Johnson Matthey and Oxford Nanopore Technologies. He previously led Spectris as CEO from 2006 to 2018. Rémont chairs Waga Energy and formerly served as Chair and CEO of EDF from 2022 to 2025. Francesco Venturini will not seek reappointment, with Rémont nominated to replace him. Both new appointees have been made Board Observers to facilitate transition before the 2026 AGM.
