Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to lead and hold others accountable is required.
  • The ability to communicate on multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment is required.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • The ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently and with a team is required.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
  • The ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes is required.
  • Candidates must be able to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • The ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information is required.
  • Candidates must be able to accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions, and cash office processes as needed.
  • Candidates must be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Candidates must be able to climb ladders as needed.
  • A flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts, and reliable, prompt attendance are required.
  • Candidates must be able to work variable weekly hours based on business needs; full-time status does not guarantee 40 hours per week.
  • Candidates must be able to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions during duties such as Drive-Up and carryout.
  • Candidates must remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained in, and consistently delivers Target's guest experience commitments and operating procedures.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable, and recognize strong guest experience performance.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take improvement actions, align the team on execution, celebrate wins, and drive results.
  • Lead Guest Advocates, Service Advocates, and Front of Store Attendants in delivering guest service, reducing wait times, resolving issues, driving loyalty, and meeting cleanliness standards.
  • Lead execution of team onboarding and learning practices and close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Use sales goals, business reporting, and guest insights to plan and execute daily and weekly workloads, deliver store sales goals, and address opportunity areas.
  • Support Target loyalty programs by ensuring the team can educate guests about benefits, features, and offerings.
  • Follow up on training completion, check understanding, and support continuous education opportunities for front-of-store experiences.
  • Conduct development conversations throughout key points in team members' career paths.
  • Personalize recognition and appreciation of team members to reinforce guest service behaviors and promote a positive team- and guest-centric culture.
  • Help lead accountability through clear expectations and performance management for Service and Engagement behaviors.
  • Respond to guest shopping concerns by de-escalating situations and supporting the team in resolving issues.
  • Ensure team members stay current on major promotions, brand launches, and events.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Support efficient and accurate pickup and Drive-Up orders, including returns and Starbucks orders, while following applicable adult beverage laws.
  • Support guest services as needed.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance, lead the team accordingly, and hold others accountable.
  • Lead safety practices by modeling safe behaviors, correcting hazards, enforcing safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries.
  • Execute physical security processes and support the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Follow safe and secure processes when serving as a key carrier, if applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level Leader on Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
