Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in health insurance, or other health care related field
  • High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study
  • Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of childhood immunization requirements
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Effective time management skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks to adhere to deadlines and identified time frames
  • Typing 35-40 wpm
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work cooperatively, positively, and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Work respectfully and positively with members
Responsibilities
  • Enter information from the tracking forms into the Medical Management System
  • Process Referrals
  • Forward specific referrals to appropriate departments
  • Maintain database and documentation
  • Enter and update data in the Immunization database
  • Outreach made to the parent/guardian of members whose immunizations are not up-to-date
  • Contact members via telephone and/or mail on child health and wellness related topics
  • Communicate with providers on member related issues
  • Follow up calls are made to members who do not show to their scheduled doctor visit to identify possible obstacles to attending scheduled visits
  • Outreach to members referred to services to verify that needs have been met
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements
