Fintech at Toast is centered around payments, lending, employees, and managing the restaurant’s back office. Our Strategy team is the strategic execution arm for the Fintech line of business. This includes defining strategic direction, ensuring seamless operations, and supporting critical initiatives.

As Senior Manager, Fintech Strategy, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction for Toast’s Fintech offerings, working closely with Go-To-Market, Product, Customer Success, and R&D teams. You will drive critical business initiatives, develop new monetization strategies, and execute operational processes to ensure the continued growth of our Fintech business. You will also play a key role in ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams, spearheading impactful outcomes through strong collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute strategic initiatives for Toast’s Fintech business. These areas include payments, lending, payroll, and back-office solutions.
• Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to optimize pricing, packaging, and customer experience.
• Build business cases for new monetization strategies and lead cross-functional efforts to bring them to life.
• Support product launches, operational changes, and pricing adjustments, partnering with Sales and Customer Success teams.
• Continuously monitor the Fintech landscape to identify emerging trends, uncovering opportunities to enhance Toast’s offerings and maintain competitive advantage.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of equivalent work experience, preferably in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, operations for high-growth technology, or venture capital
• Demonstrated experience with strategic/operational projects that have many facets and shifting parts
• Leadership and general management skills, especially in gaining alignment with different stakeholders
• Proficient time management, organizational, and relationship skills
• Superior verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Proven ability to develop relationships and problem solve with cross-functional partners
• Strategic thinker and tactical executor able to shift from big picture to detailed operations
• Impressive analytical skills with the ability to uncover insights to solve complex problems; SQL is a plus
• Team player with an exemplary track record of success in dynamic environments with changing priorities
• Understanding of the FinTech industry
• Motivated and action-oriented
