Responsibilities
  • Guide FIRST and the Digital Assets teams in building strategic audience engagement and creative communication plans across earned media, social media, thought leadership, content, events and conferences, digital platforms, campaign planning, and related channels.
  • Evolve the key messaging framework, narrative, and strategy to elevate Franklin Templeton and showcase its thought leadership, fintech, digital assets, cryptocurrency investing units, and innovation programs.
  • Write detailed strategic briefs with audience and category insights to guide internal and external partners in producing engagement programs.
  • Support sales and business development colleagues with strategic communications and digital engagement plans to drive commercial activity, deal flow, and assets under management generation.
  • Partner with the Franklin Templeton Global Communications team to drive an earned media, public relations, and market commentary strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Mentor and lead a team of hands-on managers overseeing internal and external communications, social media management, content, creative, web experiences, events, sponsorship, and conference planning.
  • Direct third-party creative, public relations, events, digital, and social media agencies to produce work efficiently and at scale.
  • Lead by example and encourage the team and partners to integrate artificial intelligence tools across communications and digital engagement plans.
  • Serve as an expert on next-generation audiences and digital engagement trends, focusing on digital-native investors.
  • Explore and leverage new digital engagement platforms and produce content programs optimized for emerging channels.
  • Build trust and rapport with internal partners across marketing, sales, digital and web, brand, legal, and compliance to launch audience engagement programs and communication plans.

Matthew Nicholls, Co-President, CFO and COO of Franklin Templeton, sold 61,533 shares of the company's common stock on 31 August for approximately $2.1 million, according to an SEC filing. The transaction was a non-discretionary event for tax purposes. Following the sale, Nicholls retains approximately 717,000 shares held directly, valued at around $24.49 million. A portion of these holdings represents unvested restricted stock units. The shares were sold at $34.15 each. Franklin Templeton's stock closed at $33.10 on 1 September. The San Mateo-based asset management firm has a market capitalisation of $17.2 billion and reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $9.3 billion.
