Ardent Health invests $315M in East Texas healthcare, grows provider network 116%

Ardent Health has expanded specialty care services into the new UT Tyler School of Medicine Building in Tyler, Texas, marking the first time patient services and physician training share a single facility in the region. The building houses women's health, pulmonary, orthopaedic, imaging and surgical care alongside the medical school. The expansion builds on Ardent's 2018 joint venture with The University of Texas System. Since then, Ardent has invested over $315 million in capital and grown the provider network to roughly 640 providers, a 116% increase. Graduate medical education has expanded from about 39 residents in 2018 to more than 270 today. UT Tyler's School of Medicine, which opened in 2023, has attracted students with strong local ties, with 90% of the current class connected to the region.

Ardent Health appoints COO Dave Caspers as CEO to drive post-IPO efficiency push

Ardent Health has appointed former Chief Operating Officer Dave Caspers as President and CEO, succeeding Marty Bonick following the company's post-IPO transformation. Caspers will also join the board and oversee Ardent's IMPACT margin and care transformation programme. The leadership change maintains the company's operational focus on improving hospital efficiency and building outpatient scale in mid-sized markets. Ardent recently reaffirmed its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance despite softer second-quarter volumes. The company's narrative projects $7.2 billion revenue and $206.4 million earnings by 2029, requiring 4% yearly revenue growth. However, investors face risks from payer denials, labour costs, regulatory uncertainty and heavy reliance on Medicaid supplemental programmes. Analysts' forecasts suggest a $12.50 fair value, representing 44% upside from current prices.
