Global investment firm Sixth Street has backed Bay Collective, a multi-club women's football ownership platform, as private capital flows into women's sport at scale. The NWSL franchise's value rose from $2 million in 2021 to over $200 million in 2026, while McKinsey research found women's sports revenue grew 4.5 times faster than men's between 2022 and 2024. Bay Collective currently owns Bay FC in San Francisco and acquired a majority stake in Sunderland AFC Women in June 2026. Nielsen research found NWSL viewership up 61% in 2025, with 64% of fans identifying as male. CEO Kay Cossington MBE said the platform benefits from "the patient capital of Sixth Street" alongside expertise in sustainable deployment specifically for women's football. Keyfactor, a trust infrastructure platform for managing machine identities and cryptographic assets, has secured over $1 billion in strategic growth investment led by Summit Partners. Existing investors Insight Partners and Sixth Street Growth will maintain significant ownership stakes. The company serves more than 2,500 customers globally, including 50% of the largest US and European banks, 80% of leading US retailers, and over 40% of Fortune 100 companies. Keyfactor issues and manages billions of machine identities annually. The investment will fund product innovation, geographic expansion, team growth, and strategic acquisitions. The funding comes as organisations face mounting pressure to manage AI-driven identity sprawl, shrinking certificate lifespans, and prepare for post-quantum cryptography transitions ahead of 2030 government deadlines. Summit Partners' Andy Collins and Colin Mistele will join Keyfactor's board following the transaction's close.
