The Research Operations Associate will be a dual role responsible primarily for supporting our VP of Research and the operations of the Research Team, with additional duties supporting some of our externally-facing research team programs around data access and publications. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, curious, and able to manage multiple priorities. What You’ll Do

• Provide administrative and operational support for the Research Team, including:
  • Calendar management, meeting prep, document organization, note-taking, calendar management
  • Organization of annual and quarterly goal setting, resourcing requests, budget review, review of promotions, etc.
• Work closely with our Research and Legal teams to support access to published 23andMe genomics datasets by reviewing requests, drafting agreements, and fulfilling requests
• Manage review, tracking, and sharing of scientific publications (including manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations) authored by 23andMe researchers and our collaborators
• For programs you support - track program metrics, efficiently communicate progress and issues arising, maintain program documentation, and continually search for opportunities to improve program processes
• Work with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Product) to support cross-functional collaboration with the Research team
• Organize and support team events and other team programs such as an external speaker series, team offsites, conferences, and team swag
• Work on other duties and projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (genetics, biology, chemistry, computer science, statistics, etc.)
• Extremely detail-oriented
• High regard for confidentiality
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects
• Experience with Google docs and calendaring
• A love for science, research, people, and learning
• Prior leadership experience (professional or other)
• Experience conducting research and reading scientific papers preferred 
• A desire to foster inclusivity and community with others
• Familiarity with genetics a plus
• Ability to work from 23andMe’s office in Sunnyvale, CA a minimum of three days per week
