Requirements
  • BA/BS equivalent degree in life sciences
  • 15 years of experience in the Life Science tools industry or related field, with at least 10 years of Commercial experience
  • 5 years of experience leading a team within global marketing or a related commercial function
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and globally up to 30-50% of time
  • MS/PhD highly preferred
  • MBA with emphasis in marketing is preferred
  • Strong background in Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Pathology, and Pharma as well as emerging markets
  • Experience in market development within the translational and clinical settings and technically proficient in the current tools, methods, and applications employed by these customer segment
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to make sound business cases and judgments
  • Must be a collaborative, team player able to build credibility and relationships across all functions and levels within the organization
  • Strong and effective leadership experience with the passion to attract, inspire, develop, nurture and retain a high performing team
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the commercial business leader for the pharmaceutical/biotech markets
  • Develop commercial strategies and implement marketing and sales programs to grow 10x business in the pharmaceutical and biotech markets
  • Maintain, develop, and communicate your deep knowledge of trends, customer needs, and competitive activity across the organization
  • Identify important problems and applications in the pharmaceutical and biotech markets that become significant market opportunities. Develop and implement campaigns for those applications
  • Utilize your deep understanding of market landscapes for the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry and various therapeutic sub-segments to develop strategic plans in alignment with the overall company goals
  • Analyze and communicate market size/share, growth potential, as well as status quo techniques and technologies across the industry in order to develop messaging and go-to-market (GTM) plans
  • Collaborate with the marketing organization to define, develop, and drive marketing activities including content creation, event marketing, lead generation, brand awareness, customer persuasion, and sales enablement
  • Develop and deliver presentations outlining the quarterly/annual performance across segments, including details on revenues, growth drivers/detractors, industry dynamics, customer usage types, and forecasts for future quarters
  • Drive for continuous improvement through strategically implementing VOC programs to inform decision-making on new features, products, partnerships, technologies or other ideas that can be leveraged from customer insights
  • Foster relationships and engage with related associations, professional organizations, publications, trade shows, and customers
  • Partner with the Sales organization as needed to identify emerging market development opportunities
