Position Summary:
The incumbent will oversee multi-site research activities, ensuring alignment of timelines, milestones, and deliverables across Québec regions. Act as key liaison with agronomists, producers, external partners, funding agencies, and internal university units, supporting collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Plan and oversee administrative and operational processes in accordance with institutional policies and funding requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in data management, including the design and oversight of collection, validation, storage, governance, and reporting systems across distributed research sites. Develop and maintain standardized procedures and tools to ensure data quality and project consistency.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret performance metrics and research outputs to inform reporting and decision-making.
- Manage financial administration of the project, including budget planning, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting in alignment with MAPAQ and university guidelines. Ensure adherence to funding conditions, procurement policies, and contractual obligations while supporting financial reporting and audit readiness.
- Oversee logistics for meetings, training sessions, field activities, and multi-regional events. Lead the organization and delivery of training programs, workshops, webinars, and knowledge transfer initiatives, and contribute to the development of technical documentation and outreach materials.
- Provide oversight and coordination of project personnel, including research staff, consultants, and collaborators. Support onboarding, assign tasks, monitor progress, and foster effective teamwork across regions and disciplines.
- Support governance and accountability processes by preparing reports, tracking decisions, and ensuring follow-up on action items. Maintain compliance with institutional policies, research standards, and funding requirements.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement by identifying operational challenges, recommending solutions, and enhancing project systems and processes. Support institutional analysis and reporting initiatives.
- Provide insight and analysis to support complex decision-making, ensuring effective implementation and adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards across all project activities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, project management, agriculture, environmental science, or related field.
- Required to be registered Ordre des agronomes du Québec (OAQ)
- Experience in project management, research, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience managing grants or publicly funded projects is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience with data management and reporting systems
- Financial administration and budget tracking knowledge
- Fluent in French and English (verbally and written)
- Ability to communicate in both languages across multiple stakeholders and regions
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Knowledge of research environments or agriculture/agroenvironmental sectors (asset)
