Vice President, Scientific Services
Summary of Opportunity
This is an opportunity to co-lead a large medical affairs account in the oncology space, in collaboration with Client Services and Creative colleagues. You’ll be working as a strategic partner to the client and will help deliver scientific communications, digital projects, and medical campaigns across multiple products and pipeline compounds in our client’s oncology portfolio.
You will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of scientific writers, advise clients and key experts, and make suggestions to shape and align client strategy. You will also be able to use your business development skills to expand the business into other client teams and service offerings.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will be a scientific expert with a robust track record in leading a large medical affairs or commercial account, preferably within the oncology space. You will thrive when presented with commercial challenges that require a visual eye and creative solution. You will be able to confidently advise clients based on your experiences and be adapt at forming trusted partnerships. A successful candidate will be comfortable aligning strategy across a high-volume account and be able to direct the team towards success. You will develop and oversee content development, providing continual editorial and strategic support and guidance. You will pride yourself in people management and your ability to coach and mentor their team to success, always ensuring that the highest quality standards are met.
In addition to account responsibilities, you will also be a member of the BOLDSCIENCE scientific leadership team who work collaboratively to share experiences and ideas, lead cross-agency initiatives, and contribute to agency culture and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced, doctoral level degree (PhD, MD, PharmD etc)
- 9+ years’ experience within the medical communications industry
- Therapy area experience in oncology, preferably hematologic malignancies
- Exceptional scientific writing skills with experience supporting medical or commercial deliverables
- Proven track record in people management and team operations
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance
