Requirements
  • A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional registration is highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of engineering, design, or project execution experience, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing engineering and design projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, facility expansions, process improvements, or manufacturing infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience within Good Manufacturing Practice-regulated manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with Food and Drug Administration-regulated environments and life sciences industry standards.
  • Experience supporting cleanroom, laboratory, utilities, process systems, or pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Ability to relate easily to customers, suppliers, contractors, government, and professional and trade associations.
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.
  • Ability to delegate authority appropriately.
  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and structure accountability.

Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering and design projects for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical clients.
  • Manage commercial contracts on assigned projects, including timely invoice payment, processing Project Change Notices, reviewing monthly Office Earnings Reports, and keeping project plans current in Vision.
  • Lead project planning, execution, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination activities.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, build client relationships, and ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls, structural, and architectural disciplines.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop project scope, execution strategies, budgets, and schedules.
  • Monitor project financial performance, scope management, risk mitigation, and overall project health.
  • Facilitate project meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet technical, quality, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Support front-end planning, conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and value-added client solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members while fostering a collaborative project environment.
  • Participate in major technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions on assigned projects.
  • Review project scope, specifications, deliverables, and design criteria, and align schedules and budgets with the project team.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with client stakeholders to support business goals.
  • Maintain timely and accurate weekly and monthly reporting using a comprehensive action-item list.
  • Ensure project documentation is reviewed and approved by the client.
  • Promote positive client relations and develop long-term relationships that support additional services.
  • Complete project closeout as required by the client.
  • Proactively manage client needs throughout all project stages.
