Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or a related technical degree with a focus on structures
  • 5+ years of experience with lightweight structures (aircraft, spacecraft, other high performance vehicles)
  • Strong CAD skills in NX (preferred), Solidworks, Catia or Creo
  • An understanding of load paths and fundamental mechanics of composite materials
  • Practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with design for manufacturing of composite parts
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and visual form
  • Attention to detail, strong organization and project management skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt within an ambiguous environment
  • Self-starter, team player, and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies in Siemens NX and Fibersim
  • Assist in developing standard methodologies for airframe design
  • Work closely with team lead, suppliers, and engineers throughout the product development process
  • Apply design for manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective designs
  • Support manufacturing to ensure successful build of the airframe and integration with the aircraft
