We are looking for a People & Culture Manager to provide operational and strategic HR support to our production teams in our Abbotsford distribution center.. This role will be responsible for driving HR functional excellence, executing on people initiatives and ultimately, delivering a stellar employee experience. Reporting to the Director, People, you will play a critical role in providing HR leadership and ensuring a safe, productive, inclusive, and engaging work environment.

What you will be doing:
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of HR professionals in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
- The ability to understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
- The desire and ability to be an influential and credible senior HR leader within the team, including setting the tone, agenda, and direction of the HR team and providing the necessary support, follow up, and leadership to ensure the team achieves desired results
- Manage full-cycle HR programs (including but not limited to onboarding, performance management, organizational design, benefits, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and offboarding) to support operational and strategic business needs
- Develop strategic relationships with your business partners by building trust and influencing business decisions
- Ability to root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then lean in, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect the site and/or the broader network
- Understand business goals and recommend thoughtful new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of the People team within the company
- Accountable for key People metrics including employee engagement, regrettable turnover, absenteeism, etc.
- Coach and mentor local HR team and collaborate with HR colleagues located across Canada to ensure consistency and alignment in HR programming
- Lead projects at both a site and national level, influence and build buy-in from stakeholders, and then drive execution and achievement of the key results using effective change management and project management skills
- A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
- Success in creating and driving effective employee relations, retention and reward programs
- A strong solutions focus and comfort working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
- Strong internal and external customer service focus
- All other duties, as assigned
At a minimum, you have:
- Degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent 5+ years of experience as a HR Business Partner or HR Manager
- Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to engage your team and motivate them
- Experience supporting an hourly population, ideally within manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution industries
- Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives, specifically in organizational design/structure, HR program development and implementation, and continuous improvement of HR processes
- Strong understanding of provincial health and safety, employment, and human rights legislation
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent coaching and conflict resolution skills, with demonstrated experience in leading complex workplace investigations
- Sound judgement and consistently adhere to fair, ethical conduct with respect to employee relations and our highly diverse employee population
- Team player with strong prioritization, time management, and organization skills
- Ability to work within a quickly changing, high pressure environment and with a great deal of ambiguity
- Experienced in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and HR tools (HRIS, ATS, scheduling/time tracking)
