Requirements
  • At least two years of experience acquiring or disposing of property.
  • Knowledge of acquiring and disposing of City or private property.
  • Knowledge of current legal guidelines and procedures used to acquire and dispose of City or private property.

Responsibilities
  • Research, negotiate, and acquire easement rights and property generally related to General Obligation Bonds.
  • Make determinations of property dispositions and ownership.
  • Apply working knowledge of legal guidelines to acquire or dispose of City or private property.
  • Negotiate values for property acquisitions.
  • Plan and organize duties related to property acquisition.
  • Facilitate the procurement, compilation, and processing of property acquisitions or dispositions.
  • Maintain accurate work records for property utilization and contracts.
  • Research proposed land acquisitions to determine the nature and extent of the acquisitions and the monetary charges to be levied to property owners.
  • Perform county records research to establish legal ownership and equitable interests in properties.
  • Review property research completed by Property Technicians and administrative staff.
  • Maintain professional communications with property owners, right-of-way acquisition contractors, survey contractors, project managers, legal representatives, land appraisers, and architecture and engineering firms.
  • Communicate with property owners and City and County officials to obtain agreement on property transactions.
  • Occasionally work outside and travel locally, including during irregular hours, nights, weekends, or holidays.
