Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related.
  • 4+ years of laboratory bench-level experience using EPA-approved methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience with ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy) or ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry)
  • Sample preparation experience using EPA methodologies such as acid digestion using SW846 methods
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to think critically.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO PASS an EPA background check to obtain access to US federal property.
Responsibilities
  • support the preparation and analysis of samples using inorganic chemistry methods
  • sample preparation (primarily acid digestion) and operation of ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and other instrumentation to determine metals and other inorganic contaminants
  • work both independently and as member of a team.
