Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, related military experience, or graduation from a trade or industrial school.
  • Ten years of professional experience solving technical problems.
  • Training in skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design or maintenance.
  • A practical understanding of engineering concepts.
  • Experience ensuring that products, services, and processes meet quality and safety standards.
  • Experience testing equipment to ensure processes operate effectively and safely.
  • Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens.
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting and the ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction.
  • Familiarity with material specifications and fabrication methods.
  • A Secret United States Department of Defense security clearance that must be maintained.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interface effectively with technical and management personnel at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical expertise in the installation, repair, and operation of Global Broadcast Service systems across the product line, including AN/PRS-11, AN/TSR-11, AN/USQ-196, and the AN/USR-10 family.
  • Coordinate responses to ship and field technical problems, including CASREPs.
  • Provide technical leadership to other technicians.
  • Provide technical advice to the Global Broadcast Service engineering team.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least three years of hands-on experience with Global Broadcast Service systems.
  • Extensive technical understanding of Global Broadcast Service system operation and function.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation for system troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures.
  • Technical experience with current Global Broadcast Service variants and their installations.
  • Experience using test equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting and providing technical support for end-to-end architecture.
  • Experience mentoring and/or training junior engineers or technicians.
  • Successful completion of SOVT and on-site technical assistance on any Global Broadcast Service variant.
