Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in Reliability Centered Maintenance practices.
  • Ability to perform data analysis on equipment performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed Control Systems, and Industrial Controllers.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required during periods of peak workloads.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support for the maintenance and operations teams in a highly automated production facility.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for reliability engineering practices.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, availability, and efficiency.
  • Improve process automation by leading electrical improvement projects focused on automatic control systems and associated field devices.
  • Optimize process automation systems utilizing process data acquisition systems.
  • Lead and participate in the commissioning of new equipment.
  • Plan improvement activities using SAP software.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for maintenance technicians and operations team members.
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and work with process engineers regarding day-to-day line activities.
  • Initiate and facilitate Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures and major breakdowns.
  • Identify and propose solutions for repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime events.
  • Participate in the execution of critical equipment inspections and analysis.
  • Analyze equipment data, recommended maintenance plans, and technical drawings.
  • Write technically based equipment maintenance plans and perform tracking of equipment maintenance performance.
  • Review drawings and technical documentation to ensure quality and safety commitments are met.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, commissioning, or service for electrical automation systems, specifically in steel or similar heavy industry.
  • Previous experience working with Rolling Mills.
  • Experience with industrial process automation systems such as cascade regulation systems used for gap control, tension control, and speed control.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers such as Siemens S7, Siemens TIA Portal, and ABB.
  • Experience with Human Machine Interface systems such as WinCC.
  • Experience with industrial communication systems including Local Area Networks, Profibus, and Profinet.
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation and motor control utilizing Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Experience with low and medium voltage motor control systems.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer certification.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP software.
  • Proficiency with Root Cause Failure Analysis, Cause Mapping, and Kaizen problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency in writing technical proposals and communications for multiple levels of an organization.
  • Experience with Human Machine Interfaces.

Green Steel Technology Company Boston Metal Announces $120M Series C Financing Led By Arcelormittal

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Boston Metal, a company developing technology to fully decarbonize steel production, today announced the $120 million first close of Series C fundraising led by multinational steel company, ArcelorMittal S.A. (NYSE: MT). Microsoft's Climate Innovation Fund and SiteGround Capital also joined as new investors in this round, alongside current investors.ArcelorMittal’s lead investment was made through its XCarb® Innovation Fund.
