Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree 4 years of relevant exercise planning experience as a Department of Defense (DoD) exercise planner, with extensive understanding of USINDOPACOM AOR.
  • 4 years experience in multi-disciplined special operations at the operational and tactical levels, supporting SOF.
  • Extensive experience with the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process.
  • Be prepared for up to 2 weeks of CONUS and OCONUS travel per month.
  • Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI, SAP/STO eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute SOCPAC and component participation in USINDOPACOM JCS and Service exercises.
  • Collaborate with USINDOPACOM and component planners to manage exercise development and execution.
  • Develop training objectives that align with SOCPAC's Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL) requirements.
  • Ensure exercises contribute to the Defense Readiness Reporting System and incorporate the Joint Lessons Learned system.
  • Enhance the command’s capability to train for a diverse range of threats from real and simulated adversaries.
  • Develop and coordinate exercise scenarios that incorporate best practices from DoD and external agencies.
  • Assist in coordination with DoD and non-DoD exercise participants and supporters.
  • Facilitate communication between exercise participants and SOCPAC staff stakeholders to ensure alignment with training objectives.
  • Develop realistic threat scenarios to test and refine the command’s training objectives.
  • Consolidate feedback and draft After Action Reports (AARs) addressing training outcomes, corrections, and Course of Action (COA) development.
