Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and experience as an accounting clerk or similar role.
  • Must be a self-starter who is quick to learn, detail-oriented, and has the ability to follow directions, proof work, and follow through.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and as a team player.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact and clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of PC skills, including spreadsheets, Word documents, email, and videoconferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
Responsibilities
  • Process purchase requests, including UTMarket carts, purchase orders, contracts, and Amazon Prime business purchases.
  • Process voucher payments, journal entries, and account transfers.
  • Prepare travel authorizations and travel payment vouchers.
  • Assist with travel arrangements as assigned.
  • Track requests in emails, spreadsheets, and other systems as required.
  • Maintain paper and electronic records according to university record retention policies.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and reliable communication to employees and vendors.
  • Evaluate, research, and resolve procurement and payment issues and inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned, including providing administrative support to academic business affairs staff and serving as backup to co-workers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in Point Plus, UT Market, DEFINE, Smartsheet, and/or the Request Form System.
  • Experience with University accounting policies and knowledge of UT's Handbook of Business Procedures.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications.
