Schedule:
Monday–Thursday 8-5, Friday 12-5
(40 hour work week)
**This position will be fully onsite at our HQ office***
- Answer multi-line phones for the billing department, ensuring all in-coming lines are always covered.
- Cross-train in authorizations, insurance verification and payment posting to assist with coverage as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal with patients regarding sensitive financial matters and capture unpaid balances including patient itemized receipt requests.
- Receive and resolve patient billing complaints and questions, initiate adjustments as necessary.
- Make appropriate financial arrangements for payment of patient accounts; Respond to correspondence or telephone calls from patients about accounts.
- Document calls with patients in practice management system.
- Utilize merchant processing vendor to process credit cards or check payments & manage payment plans.
- Send receipts when requested by patient.
- Prepare write-off and refund requests with appropriate documentation and submit to Manager.
- Process collection agency accounts.
- Assist AR Specialist with insurance records requests.
- Sort daily mail, interoffice correspondence, and faxes.
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid Insurance guidelines.
- Must be customer oriented and have the ability to adapt/respond to patient escalation issues

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or higher.
- Healthcare, hospital, or clinical patient service experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1+ years of Revenue Cycle experience within healthcare.
- 1+ years of customer service experience speaking with patients.
