  • Graduate of an AOTA-approved occupational therapy assistant education program and successful completion of the Occupational Therapy Assistant certification process.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure, including temporary licensure, as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Basic Life Support training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support must be maintained through retraining for the duration of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform responsibilities as an integral team member of an occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant collaboration focused on patient-centered decision-making.
  • Document delivery of occupational therapy services.
  • Educate patients, family members, caregivers, significant others, and staff members.
  • Direct and supervise activities of support personnel.
  • Perform occupational therapy programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, using standard occupational therapy techniques appropriate for the patient's age, functional impairments, abilities, needs, and desires.
