Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly and efficient service at the guest service desk, answer questions, and address guest concerns.
  • Reinforce company culture, uphold guest service standards, and guide Guest Service associates, Cashiers, Baggers, and Cart Runners in daily operations.
  • Use leadership tools including ten tile evaluations, the Coach’s Reminder Card, Cashier Daily, Cashier Reference Information Binders, and the Guest Service OPPS Manual.
  • Monitor Guest Service activity, ensure team compliance with procedures, and maintain department cleanliness and functionality.
  • Direct guests, manage checkout lines, and provide timely overrides or assistance to the Guest Service team.
  • Manage staff schedules, adjust operations based on business needs, and maintain compliance with labor laws for minor employees.
  • Manage staff coverage by calling in additional team members when needed to cover absences or increased business demand.
  • Schedule breaks, lunches, and clock-out times for minor employees in compliance with labor laws.
  • Adjust daily schedules based on sales, item movement, and guest traffic to maintain productivity.
  • Notify Shift Managers when assistance is required and when handling guest service responsibilities at checkout lanes.
  • Open additional checkout lanes as needed and keep a cash drawer readily available for personal use when necessary.
  • Use the GSR Shift Report to document and communicate lateness or absences.
  • Monitor cart availability and manage cart collection and running processes.
  • Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
