Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration is required or the candidate must be working toward it.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals is required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including Corridors, is required.
  • Experience with MicroStation is required.
  • Experience with New Jersey Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and county standards is required.
  • Traffic signal design and timing experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Independent and critical-thinking abilities are required.
  • Strong organizational and delegation abilities are required.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring is required.
  • Experience managing complex programs and projects is required.
  • Proven leadership ability is required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the production of construction plans, grading plans, drainage plans, profiles, cross sections, signing and striping plans, ADA curb ramp plans, traffic signal and electrical plans, and other plans needed for projects within the public right-of-way by directing and managing others or conducting the work.
  • Research and coordinate transportation projects with utilities as needed.
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop, maintain, and execute project objectives, timelines, goals, and budgets.
  • Conduct project-related communications with clients and reviewing jurisdictions.
  • Attend project meetings with the Project Manager and Principal.
  • Supervise and manage other engineers and personnel.
  • Help build and maintain relationships with agency engineers and clients.
  • Provide technical assistance and quality-control oversight on traffic engineering projects during conceptual development.
  • Provide transportation engineering support to other company divisions as needed.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinate technical efforts within the traffic engineering discipline.
  • Lead and direct sub-consultants as needed.
  • Prepare technical reports such as Drainage Reports and Design Exception Reports.
  • Prepare written reports and oral presentations related to design plans and reports as needed.
