Trend Micro reported second-quarter 2026 financial results with annual recurring revenue exceeding $1.7 billion, up 5% year-over-year. The cybersecurity company posted consolidated net sales of JPY 74.7 billion ($468 million) for the quarter ending 30 June 2026. TrendAI Vision One ARR grew 49% year-over-year, now representing 45% of total enterprise ARR. The platform added over 2,900 customers in the past 12 months, with net revenue retention reaching 122%. Digital Life Protection ARR increased 52% year-over-year to $137 million. However, Trend Micro revised its full-year forecast downward due to rising cloud-related expenses, including AI token costs. The company now expects operating income to decrease 23.2% from the previous year, projecting JPY 44.4 billion ($284 million) for the year ending 31 December 2026.
TrendAI, the enterprise AI security division of Trend Micro, has adopted Claude Opus 5 to enhance vulnerability prioritisation and virtual patching capabilities. As a participant in Anthropic's Cyber Verification Program, TrendAI will use the advanced reasoning model to help security teams convert vulnerability intelligence into immediate protection across hybrid environments. The model will support TrendAI's work in threat research, combining frontier AI with proprietary intelligence and human expertise to generate pre-disclosure intelligence. These insights power TrendAI Vision One, delivering detection, forensic insights, and proactive protection through virtual patching. TrendAI chief platform and business officer Rachel Jin said the technology enables protection of organisations faster than software can be permanently patched, addressing the challenge of responding to vulnerabilities as AI makes finding them increasingly easy.
Trend Micro has integrated Anthropic's Claude Compliance API into its Vision One platform. The API, available to Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform customers, exposes conversation content including chats, uploaded files and projects, whilst surfacing activity events such as logins, administrative actions and configuration changes. Trend Micro said customers can deploy a self-hosted collector that runs locally, ensuring the compliance access key and Claude conversation content remain within their own environment to meet data residency requirements. The integration also offers a security information and event management option that correlates Claude telemetry with signals from endpoints, identities, networks, cloud services and email systems.
TrendAI, Trend Micro's enterprise AI security unit, is evaluating Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 to enhance vulnerability detection and risk mitigation for developers and security teams. The collaboration aims to improve understanding of context, exploitability, business impact and remediation processes. TrendAI is participating in Anthropic's Cyber Verification Program, which grants access to frontier AI models for defensive security purposes. The company is assessing how Claude Opus 4.8's advanced reasoning capabilities can strengthen AI-assisted security operations through better prioritisation and remediation guidance across complex software environments. The initiative supports TrendAI Vision One in helping security analysts and application security teams prioritise exposure, map attack paths and accelerate mitigation, including virtual patching, across hybrid environments. TrendAI serves customers across 185 countries.
TrendAI, the enterprise cybersecurity business from Trend Micro, has announced strategic business transformations focused on addressing cybersecurity challenges in the AI era. The company will showcase solutions for AI governance and enhanced AI asset visibility at COMPUTEX 2026. With global AI spending projected to surpass $3.3 trillion by 2029 according to Gartner, enterprises face mounting cybersecurity pressures from fragmented AI tools and governance complexity. TrendAI integrates nearly 40 years of Trend Micro technology to help organisations move from reactive threat response to proactive risk management. At COMPUTEX 2026, TrendAI will demonstrate its enterprise-grade security solutions, including TrendAI Vision One, addressing operational complexity, risk governance and AI strategy execution. The company serves Fortune 500 companies and governments across 185 countries.
