What believers are saying

  • The theater said it opened 2026 with nearly 30,000 subscribers and 600,000 seats.
  • KSL reported 2026 attendance targets above 700,000, signaling strong pricing and demand.
  • Multiple 2026 productions sold out quickly, including My Fair Lady, validating premium ticket demand.

What critics are saying

  • Attendance concentration in Sandy makes any Utah demand slowdown immediately hit revenue.
  • High production intensity and three-stage operations demand constant sold-out runs to sustain margins.
  • A weak 2027 season or local recession could expose HCT's single-site, fixed-cost model.

What makes Hale Centre Theatre unique

  • Sandy’s 911-seat in-the-round, 467-seat thrust, and 322-seat proscenium create rare programming flexibility.
  • HCT owns its Sandy building outright after December 17, 2025, reducing landlord dependence.
  • Its 2027 Utah-exclusive Lord of the Rings locks in a marquee regional differentiator.
