We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Inside Sales who will play a pivotal role in establishing and executing strategies for obtaining new customers and maintaining/growing existing customer accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in commercial sales and strong genetics and NGS knowledge. Experience with capital equipment sales and proven sales leadership is a must. This role will report to the Director, Commercial Operations and will be a San Diego based role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the direction, support and motivation of the Global Inside Sales team to meet or exceed sales goals
- Work with Commercial leadership to implement the global strategy taking into consideration regional nuances to obtain new customers and grow existing customer account in order to meet and exceed revenue goal
- Ensure a high-level of collaboration with multiple departments to ensure coordination of activities and alignment of common goals
- Manager the customer sales process for global territories, product lines and/or accounts via engaged selling strategies
- Profile regular reports on status of specific sales, the market and competitor activities along with regular forecasts to articular current performance, and create systematic plans to accelerate or close the gap to goal
- Set and cascade the global goals and desired outcomes with the team, collaborating regionally to align strategies, address customer needs and optimize processes
- Identify and report on new and existing regional business opportunities in target markets, build relationships with key customers and align resources appropriately
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, escalating as appropriate
- Support the forecasting process (rolling and quarterly) for the sales organization
- Support and drive the usage and maintenance of SFDC; analyze customer activity and create strategies for future sales
- Responsible for ensuring the regional team becomes and remains properly trained and coached on sales, applications and product related issues
- Prepare regional sales forecasts and budgets, and report on sales activities to senior management
- Foster a high-performance culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Hold continuous performance discussions and provide real-time, candid, and constructive feedback and coaching to enhance individual and team performance
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Biology / Genetics or Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biology / Genetics preferred
- 7+ years of experience of commercial (sales/marketing/business development) experience or equivalent experience within a laboratory setting plus customer facing experience
- Demonstrated sales leadership (preferably global) and people management experience, with a proven track record of leading teams that meet or exceed revenue targets
- Confidence in making decisions and recommendations using a data-driven mindset, and leveraging change management skills
- Capital equipment sales experience required; proven ability to sell sophisticated, high-throughput instrument platforms and associated consumables in a highly technical environment
- Strong Genetics and Molecular Biology foundation; preferred knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping method
- Deep knowledge and relationships with decision makers/influencers and leading researchers in the sequencing and spatial biology community
- Experience with strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts is preferred
- Conducts presentations effectively, professionally and comfortably to customers/peers/management
- Strong desire to “win” and build customer relationships and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, target-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, departments and regions
- Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experience
- Ability to recognize and manage potential problem areas, identify root causes and resolve them with sound judgment and integrity
- Strong presentation, documentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills on both technical and non-technical topics

Base Compensation Pay Range:
In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, sales commission, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
