Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a Business Development Representative to support our Account Executives on the front side of our Sales Process. This is a dynamic sales role operating where you will be targeting public infrastructure businesses seeking big data solutions to bolster their strategic sales & marketing efforts. You will be responsible for the front-end of the sales process; heavy researching, investigating pain & need with cold calling and emailing is required as well as verifying inbound leads to tee up qualified Opportunities with Account Executives. We’re looking for a numbers-driven & business minded high performer who is a quick learner, hard worker, with a passion for selling.
The position will be out of our Toronto Headquarters.
What Will You Accomplish? / How You Will Make An Immediate Impact:
- Strategic research to identify & pre-qualify prospects - High business acumen is required.
- Conduct cold calls and email campaigns to generate Opportunities from target lists.
- Tailor email pitch & leverage existing collateral to pique interest of potential buyers.
- Respond & Qualify inbound leads in a prompt way to generate Opportunities.
- Generate daily and weekly sales reports and stats on Citylitics’s CRM (Hubspot).
- Develop and execute on prospect targeting campaigns.
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams to ensure effective messaging to appropriate sectors/prospects .
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven track record: 1-2 years of experience in sales or a customer-facing role, ideally with experience selling data and/or SaaS solutions, demonstrating success in building relationships and achieving targets.
- Results-oriented: A strong focus on numbers and meticulous attention to detail, consistently exceeding goals and tracking progress.
- Cold outreach expertise: A deep understanding of cold outreach strategies and the metrics that drive success, with the ability to identify and engage potential customers effectively.
- Exceptional communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to build rapport, deliver compelling presentations, and actively listen to customer needs.
- Structured sales approach: The ability to adhere to a standardized sales process, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and optimized results.
- Proactive and driven: A self-starter with a confident, assertive demeanor, strong organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
- Effective lead management: Skilled at qualifying leads, conducting discovery calls, and uncovering prospect needs to ensure efficient meeting scheduling.
- Research proficiency: Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research to understand industries, target companies, and decision-makers.
- Business acumen: Strong analytical skills to assess opportunities, identify key decision-makers, and ensure effective lead qualification.
- Attention to Detail: Use the word "stormwater" or "drinking water" in a sentence in your cover letter
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with sales and productivity tools such as CRM like HubSpot, Prospecting Tools like ZoomInfo or LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Calling Tools like Orum.
